Budas de Piedra is the first proper release of the Mexican producer Rizoma, the art student residing in Toluca, Estado de México and key member from the T.A.U. collective presents a futuristic EP which address an experimental approach on hybrid club music, creates a soundtrack for a post-ritualistic experience and delivers a soundscape for a dancefloor that is ahead of this time.

Between the use of sci-fi movies / political speech samples and cyberpunk sound effects, Rizoma provides - in a pretty narrative way - an ethereal but consistent club music approach inspired in the extended possibilities that genres like grime and reggaetón can provide.

The often cinematic sonic environments full of immersive layers of dramatic synths and hard-hitting melodies combined with distorted rave synths creates a dance music exploration that feels pretty spiritual. Ultimately, Budas de Piedra generates outside experiences; it can either create a world of utopian liberation or an apocalyptic scenario.

This contrasted dualism could be explained in the way that the whole project represents an escape from a reality in which contemporary and experimental takes on art and music are not a usual thing, but that still, those surroundings can provide an opportunity to create a something from the beginning. “It’s important for me to question established structures.” Rizoma says.
